Framed Paper Wall Art ‘The Golden One’ by Amanda Deadman Art
Amanda Deadman is fascinated by patterns and shapes in nature. She especially loves the movement and forms of fish swimming in shoals. This inspired her to create this framed paper wall art.
As with a lot of her relief pieces, Amanda works with one form, (in this case fish) in a different colour. Amanda works by creating two watercolour paintings of different patterns and shapes, one in black, greys, copper, gold, and white, and the other in gold, copper and white. As well as watercolours, she uses Posca pens and gold ink.
The paintings were then hand-cut into four different size fish shapes with metallic watercolour stripes painted across each fish. Each fish is shaped and rounded and mounted on a small foam board plinth to enhance the 3D effect. This helps to cast interesting shadows depending on where the light is coming from.
As with all her framed paper wall art, Amanda takes great care and time to position each fish in just the right place until she is really happy with the whole. It’s painstaking work and a real labour of love!
Bespoke colour combinations and sizes are available on request.
