Artist Statement:
So, one day my friend messaged me with this amazing picture of a parrot she saw hanging out on the street in London. All I could think was that I had the perfect glass!
I set about sketching and designing this 2 ft parrot, which has 74 different pieces of glass to create its feathers and all its details. I hand-painted all the details onto the face. I love the dark mottled purple tones of the beak and claws (though they’re hard to photograph!) and all the fabulous turquoise shades and the little flecks and red and orange.
He looks magnificent in a window and hangs very majestically.
Stained Glass Parrot – Artist
Laura Kriefman stained glass artist works primarily with painted and lead light and painted glass in her work, which ranges from large architectural works to small works of art.
