Sculptured Art Glass ‘Waterfall 2’ by Petr Stacho
Waterfall 2, is a beautiful sculptured art glass piece by renowned glass sculptor Petr Stacho.
It is elegant in look, and so captivating in nature. The water flows out over the summit to cascade down to the surface and form the actual base. The highly polished sides portray a smooth, rounded mountainside. A pleasing contrast to the turbulent water between.
An enchanting deep blue gives a sense of the cool waters that immerse your senses as your eyes delve deeply into this mesmerising glass sculpture.
Stacho’s sculptured art glass is truly representative of how he likes to work with solid and liquid glass. Allowing the glass to take its own form to represent abstractly a natural scene.
Sculptured Art Glass Artist
Glass Artist Petr Stacho was born in 1965 in Usti nad Labem, Czech Republic. As a teenager, he attended a glassmaking school in Kamenický Šenov. He then went on to study window restoration. It was while studying at the Prague Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design, that Petr’s reputation in glass began to grow.
It is his extraordinary devotion to glass that has made him stand out as a glass artist. Petr’s main objective is to maintain the highest standards of glassmaking craftsmanship with the purity of expression.
Petr uses what he deems as the best of the hot-glass techniques to create pieces of sculptural character. These pieces are then decorated with an air of sophistication, thoughtful design and liquid glass.
Petr uses the triangle symbol for his intuitive search for perfection. His vision to balance all elements of glass art. The geometric form is worked with a concept in mind. Stacho looks to patterns defined originally by Mother Nature. Melting ice or freezing liquid, meteorite materials or transparent substances.
Petr has returned to where he began his glass fascination and teaches glass-cutting at the Glass School in Kamenický Šenov. The oldest school of its type in the world.
