The layers of the bottle provide incredible depth to this piece by Kalki, the aquamarine colouring allowing you to lose yourself in the vast depth of the ocean and its waves.
Kalki uses the layers in the aquamarine blue glass perfume bottle to express his deep connection with nature and the sea. His expression through colours is at its best in his layered perfume bottles, their incredible depth providing a medium for thought and dreams.
Be prepared to be taken into a world of daydreams by the ocean when you stare into the aquamarine blue bottle, time stopping still as you imagine yourself sitting down by the edge of the sea.

Blue Glass Perfume Bottle Artist
Kalki’s relationship with glass started at the tender age of 13 when he came across a glass art studio in Northern Ireland. Moving from the South with his family, he would spend as much time as possible hanging out at the Glass Studio he had stumbled across. Kalki finished his secondary school education, spending as much as possible of his spare time at the studio.
America was his destination on completing school, and here he would learn more about his passion by visiting several studios and getting to know their individual artists.
On return from America, Kalki Mansel Glass enrolled at Sunderland University to study for a BA honours degree in Glass, Architectural Glass, and Ceramics. His passion for glass had intensified during his time in America, and in 2007 he graduated from Sunderland. 2008 took Kalki to Australia, and on his return, he was to start working for the Jane Charles Studio of Glass in Sunderland as well as the National Glass Centre.
Today, Kalki continues to work in Sunderland, for both studios and as a glass blower and practising glass artist. Kalki’s works like this crystal clear blue glass perfume bottle are inspired by many fields including science, the natural world, colour, and culture.
Molten glass is the perfect material for expressing and capturing his inspirations, Kalki loves to share his fascination with glass with others through his works.
