Glass Sculptural Art ‘Touch of The Sea’ By Naomi Jacques
Touch of the Sea is a winsome piece of glass sculptural art. Naomi uses her own personal blend of coloured pieces with various grains of clear glass to create this unassuming piece. Fused into one piece which is then formed over a handmade mould which itself has been inspired by natural forms.
Touch of the Sea has been inspired by British Coastlines. Like the sea crashing against the shores in waves of fury. Naomi’s special technique of frit fusion creates an appearance like that of diamonds and gems. The jewels of the sea!
No two pieces of glass sculptural art made in this way will ever be the same. Each sculpture is unique and individual.
N.B. The images shown are an example of the ones in the series. Each art glass is handmade and therefore there will be small variations in colour, shape and pattern. Each one is unique and signed by the artists.

Naomi has an interest in the science involved in glass fusing. She relishes challenging and adapting kiln-forming processes. While always looking to push the conventional boundaries to challenge the usability of the form by material and processes used to create. Naomi’s signature process, ‘Frit Fusion,’ has been developed to convey that even when broken and feeling unworthy one can rebuild, strengthen and shine again – broken truly is beautiful.
By refracting and reflecting light through her work, Naomi gives her glass sculptures the appearance of diamonds and crystals. Naomi looks to materialise a nugget of true individual emotion.
Naomi had the pleasure of working with Swarovski® Cut Crystal after meeting Ute Schumacher – Director of Creative Direction and Design Network at SWAROVSKI®.
