Wavy Bowl by Hayley Gammon
An unusually shaped shallow wavy bowl by amazing glass artist Hayley Gammon. With smooth-rolling edging along the top and a uniquely shaped footing.
This wavy bowl reminds one of the layers of sand, with the swaying overlaps of clear and coloured glass.
A superb purchase for any art glass lover, place this in your collection or on your office table. The artist can make this in your choice of colour.
N.B. The image shown is an example of one in the series. Slight variations in colour and form will occur as every piece is uniquely made just for you. Therefore, no two pieces are ever the same. Hayley personally signs each piece.
Wavy Bowl Artist
Hayley Gammon is an experienced glassblower who works across different environments, including teaching. Working up from volunteer assistant to full-time freelance glassblower after studying Three-Dimensional Design Specialising in Glass at Manchester Metropolitan University.
Now Hayley’s fantastic and bright work has won her a Finalist award for the Craft and Design Awards 2016. Fresh and innovative is the artist’s style, using a mixture of both modern and traditional. Hayley incorporates handmade glass-blowing techniques with colourful designs into her yellow vessel and other pieces. Hot and cold glass techniques are used to give a wider range of designs.
Hayley explores the qualities of glass and expresses this with the use of bold colours. She also uses cutting and polishing processes to accentuate these aspects further. A recurring theme of contrast can be seen throughout all the pieces, focusing on transparent and opaque glass.
Glass art by Hayley covers both decorative artistic pieces, such as her bright drops, to practical paperweights and bowls.
The artist’s work is established in galleries and exhibitions. Hayley feels privileged to work in this industry and would not see herself doing anything else.
