Petr Stacho glass artist was born in 1965 in Usti nad Labem, Czech Republic. As a teenager he attended a glassmaking school in Kamenický Šenov. He then went on to study window restoration. It was while as a student at the Prague Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design, that Petr’s reputation in glass began to grow.
It is his extraordinary devotion to glass that has made him stand out as a glass artist. Petr’s main objective is to maintain the highest standards of glassmaking craftsmanship with the purity of expression.
Petr uses what he deems as the best of the hot-glass techniques to create pieces of sculptural character. These pieces are then decorated with an air of sophistication, thoughtful design and liquid glass.
Petr uses the triangle symbol for his intuitive search for perfection. His vision to balance all elements of glass art. The geometric form is worked with a concept in mind. Stacho looks to patterns defined originally by Mother Nature. Melting ice or freezing liquid, meteorite materials or transparent substances.
Petr Stacho glass artist has returned to where he began his glass fascination and teaches glass-cutting at the Glass School in Kamenický Šenov. The oldest school of its type in the world.
