Clare L Wilson Glass artist and designer graduated with a BA (Hons) in 2007 from the Edinburgh College of Art in Scotland.
From there, she traversed the globe to the farthest side, to JamFactory Contemporary Craft and Design in Adelaide, Australia, where she was one of the fortunate few to be selected for their two year associate training program.
In Australia, Clare had the opportunity to fine tune her blown glass skills within the specialist program that focused on design, prototyping and production.
After her two year stint on the program, Clare became a studio tenant and produced blown glass tableware which sold well, right across the continent. She also exhibited with the Ranamok Glass Prize touring exhibition.
Clare travels extensively as part of her practice and as a fully-fledged and respected member of the international glass community. This has been a great way to share ideas and skills as well as to get constructive feedback from her peers.
In 2012 Clare returned to the UK and bases herself in Hampshire, where she continues to evolve her glass craft. Clare focuses on a muted palette with cane and murine techniques that heightens the effect of her signature frenetic patterning.
Her time is split between producing Clare L Wilson Glass commissioned pieces for individuals and corporate clients and creating one off art glass objects for exhibition.
